The Wine Company "Torre Zambra" is placed in the region of Abruzzo with Headoffice in the area of Villamagna, a few km. far from Chieti and Pescara between the beaches of the Adriatic Sea and the Maiella National Park.
In 1905 the grandfather of the present owners of the Company, purchased from the Barons Zambra, noble family coming from Lombardy, plot of land on which a delapidated sighting tower was still visible which had been built in 1522 to be protected from the ferocious invasions of Turkish people, better knows as the Saracens.
Some years later, on a part of that land, Moscato, Cococciola and later Montepulciano grapevines, were planted. Since then, grapes of excellent quality have been harvested, being greatly estimated by everyone, which have been producing wines particularly appreciated ever since ( it is easy to think that it couldn't be different considering the favourable half-coast position of vineyards on a wonderful hill submitted to extraordinary mild climate, even in winter season).
The art of making good wine was handed on from father to children and, in 1961 Laurentino De Cerchio, father of the present owners Riccardo and Vincenzo, founded the Wine Company called with the name of that old tower.
Today Torre Zambra boasts over 40 years of wine-making activity. The Companyhas strongly improved, during these years, high-quality wine and typicalness. Based on over 40 hectars of vineyards, by never-ending up-dated hight-tech innovations and wine-equipment, which have required strong human and economic resources, the Company produces almost 400.000 bottles of exclusive local DOC and ITG wine yearly.
Torre Zambra wines are quoted on the main oenology guide-books and are exported in several European Countries like Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Danmark, USA and Japan being more and more appreciated by demanding and qualified clients.
Our wines are destinated, due to a specific strategy of the company, to restaurants, wine-shops, wine-bars and to all those people who look for products whose quality remains steady and safe in the time.
