In the Pepe Firm, they breath the passion for wine in the 15 hectars of wine yard of the family, cultivated personally by Emidio, according to biologic methods, and today also biodinamic without the use of chemical products during the whole procedure.
It is all based on a preferably balanced Toranese microclimate wanted by nature and also by the composition layley calcareous of the ground, vital for the hands of a grape - grower like Emidio Pepe with his 40 years experience, regulates perfectly the nutrition and working of the ground, the pruning and the vegetation of the wine yard, finally it's time to gather the grapes!
WINE CELLAR
The bottles of wine are patiently stacked up in the wine cellar one on top of the other, following a regular & sinuosity line that almost seems the Abruzzo hills. There are almost 250.000 bottles that rest for 20/30 years in the air conditioned underground wine cellar which is an ideal environment for ageing. They all look like many little soldiers, that are waiting to conquer the most hard to please palates; during the years of experience the taste improves, the bouquet and ..... you can feel all its potential and persistence once tasted.
All the bottles are decanted before entering on the market controlled and selected in a small laboratory where ROSA PEPE is naturally decanted from 1 bottle to another, in order to eliminate the natural deposit that happens on the bottom of the bottle...filtering the wine takes away many very important proprieties from the wine, instead decanting naturally gives you the possibility to leave integrally all the personality and balance is needed to a wine.
At the end these bottles get hand labelled and go on the market. And this is why the Pepe Firm guarantees all the bottles for quality, genuine...and long life.
