Description

Fattoria Mancini is a family owned winery, the current properties of which have been in the Mancini family from the middle of the nineteenth century. They cover around 80 hectares in the district of Pesaro, of which 34 are cultivated with vines. The vineyards are located in the Natural Park of Monte San Bartolo, at the northern tip of the Marche region and a few kilometres from the city of Pesaro. The vineyard sites are all within a few hundred metres of the coast. On these hills overlooking the Adriatic Sea, the cool microclimate and calcareous sandy soils, help to produce well structured wines, which maintain their depth, freshness and elegance.

The principal grape variety of Fattoria Mancini is Pinot Noir, the original clones of which have been conserved for five generations of winegrowers, after being imported into the area at the start of the nineteenth century by the napoleonic administration. After two centuries of adaptation this Pinot Noir is now quite rightly considered a local grape. In addition to the traditional red vinification, the winery has specialized for more than thirty years in the production of a white vinification of Pinot Noir. Fermented and aged in barrels for 12 months, this wine has become the flagship wine of the winery. Other typical local grape varieties are also cultivated at Fattoria Mancini: Sangiovese, Ancellotta and Albanella - the typical and exclusive white grape variety of Pesaro.

Fattoria Mancini has long been committed to producing wines of the highest quality while maintaining respect for its traditions and local grape varieties. It has distinguished itself for having made a strong contribution to research on the cultivation and vinification of these varieties in the Province.
